.. on StateBy mlindholm2  : Good news for those wanting DSL in Coralville! I live almost as far away from the Qwest CO as one could, almost a stone's throw from the mall, and recently got DSL. It's 256/256 Megabit DSL, with Qwest.net as my ISP; costs are $15 for the local loop, and $9.99 for ISP charges.
According to the DSL sales manager for Iowa, they've put in a DSLAM in their "22nd St. facility." I looked, and didn't see anything, but all I know for sure is, it works. The only problem I have is they're using PPPoA(PPPoATM), which rules out using any currently available cable/DSL routers to handle the login.
Finally we have an alternative to Mediacom. (assuming non-wireless)

This function of DSLreports is designed to meet the question we often see from visitors -- namely, What is the state of highspeed access in my area?. Of course it is impossible to collect and report this ourselves for all the many towns, cities and regions, so we invite you to write something if you already know. You'll help your neighbor!
