Windstream can afford upgrades, but AT&T can't? It seems like every ISP in the country is upgrading except the one I am stuck with. Yes AT&T... I'm calling you out!
old technology VDSL2 a little late there, eh? AT&T deployed their VDSL 2 back in 2009.

Re: old technology Guess you will have to search for alternatives or move to a new location. One of my main reasons I moved was for cheaper broadband. I am happier than ever, but now I hardly use the internet than for work and small entertainment.

Re: old technology Thank god Columbus actually has multiple cable options in most areas. One of the few parts of the country that has allowed it. Now if only they could have went that way with the telco side (*coughhack* Fios would be lovely )
Personally Uverse is nothing to really write home about. The only thing that they have done right is the DVR/Whole home operation. It just works and has the fewest annoyances compared to other providers. Everything else is 'average' at best.
I swear, some people should have pace-makers installed to free up the resources. Breathing and heart beat taxes their whole system, all of their brain cells wasted on life support.-two bit brains, and the second bit is wasted on parity! ~head_spaz
Re: old technology Yea but Insight and WOW both suck. Hopefully TWC improves Insight.
Re: old technology Why are they not using it for U-Verse?
Re: old technology get a big U-Haul truck and back into it, might help to remind them! lol
Re: old technology could be that the copper they have is in better shape and higher gauge since it was rural, thus why they can push the extra meg.
Re: old technology Nope. AT&T has 32/5 provisioned packages for their 24/3 service. AT&T is just holding back.
I've been ordering this service for a while? I didn't realize this was news, perhaps just a larger expansion. I've had the 24/2 service on a single pair VDSL for 8+ months in Sugar Land, TX. I also had 24/2 service installed in Lincoln, NE a couple of weeks ago. I can confirm that a few of my other locations had bonded ADSL2 for the 12/2 service available.
In other news, Centurylink has 60/40Mbps bonded VDSL2+ available in Phoenix.
I'll believe it when I see it I was just turned down for 12 meg after a line test showed I'd never sync over ~ 6.9 meg. I'm thrilled to have 6 now though after 10 years being stuck at 3.0

Re: I'll believe it when I see it I went from having 25/4 with Comcast and never seeing any issues at all to Greenstreak 6/512kbps. I have noticed the mentioned "congestion" especially in the late afternoon and at times I've had speedtest results of .74Mbps down and a steady uploaded of .64Mbps. The installer who came to my residence was explaining to me the problem and that they were upgrading sometime in the near future and that my area was more than likely to be bought by another telco soon.
I'm willing to ride this out if the upgrade is swift and painless. Though I would be willing to help bring some new TV White Space broadband technology to the area.
Local offices often can't deliver Every time I got one of those flyers and called in, they told me I could not get that tier. They said the HQ was unaware of what technology was at the local office.
Love my docs is 3.0 When we looked at houses in Vegas getting one in a cox cable served area was a must and easy because we don't care to live out in the sticks. I mean seriously who the f@ck wants to live in Searchlight? It has 2 real buildings and the rest are ALL trailers discusting! That's why it's called the armpit of Nevada.
I'm loving my Docsis 3.0 it's way faster than its 16/3 rating I've seen as high as 29 down and 12 up on different days and different test.
Georgia? Does anyone know if Georgia will see this upgrade? If so, where?
Re: Georgia? We apologize for not replying, we missed the post. However, at this time I do not have the specifics as to which markets will be receiving this upgrade. Please call the billing office in the middle of November they should be able to tell you if your area has VDSL2/GBOND service.

Spread the speed. The best my area can get is 1.5/512. So those already fast get even faster when I get left even farther behind the average.
