WildBlue Expands into the South

WildBlue expanded its service to three additional states: South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.

The company offers satellite-based Internet access in three service packages to consumers and small businesses, delivering download speeds of up to 1.5Mbps. All packages include ISP services such as e-mail and web space, the WildBlue Portal, customer care and an equipment warranty.

WildBlue's equipment package is available for $299 and professional installation is $79.95. Subscriptions start at $49.95 a month.

WildBlue launched its service last summer. Its strategic investors include Intelsat, the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, Liberty Media and Telesat.
