 | | | Re: help First of all, you need to specify who your broadband provider is. If you are getting broadband service through the uni, you may find that they block the use of VOIP adapters.
Then you need to describe how you connect to broadband. If you are just plugging your computer into the ethernet wall jack, you may need a router. Some VOIP adapters have passthrough ports that let the VOIP adapter plug into the wall and your computer plug into the adapter. | |

Waltham, MA | Re: help Its unlikely that a UK university will block a VOIP adapter, as its always an outbound connection. The box supplied by Vonage in the UK is a Linksys RT31P2 which includes a Router with QoS.
