Nice...Crystal clear evidence that caps were always about an overage revenue stream. Now I would think there would be plenty of employers out there that would want to block this capability as well. I can't imagine anybody would be happy to find someone in thier cubicle watching Gossip Girl (it's sad that I actually know what that is)!

Re: Nice...Did you and Karl actually read the article?
It isn't about HD content, and the only reference to caps, is where he suggests the consumer will not pay for video streams bandwidth or overages, instead, the content provider will pay in lieu of the retail customer.

The difference may be...said by Karl Bode:Of course other companies with deeper pockets (Apple) have tried and failed to convince broadcasters that they should engage in an a la carte subscription offering. McAdam's appears to be discussing select content owners' interest in À la carte for the mobile component of VZ's pay TV offerings. Other content distributors have been attempting to push À la carte into the living room. Different business models IMO.

Re: The difference may be...I just hope the content provider is not Byron Allen's. I'm not sure if the customer base is going to be able to keep up with these corporate dreams.

They know there are low caps and high prices. If they watch the videos anyway, I don't want to hear their whining about how they are being ripped off.

Remember--- with DSL being allowed to die on the vine, with the halt of FIOS, and with Verizon's plan for all future "broadband" service buildouts to be their LTE wireless, LTE wireless may well be the *only* choice available to millions of households.
If people live in Verizon's footprint and can't get FIOS or Cable, but have DSL, this doesn't mean they are safe. DSL is being abandoned and at some time in the future said service could be withdrawn or Verizon could "Decline" to repair said service when needed. Then wireless will be the only option.

WowI feel bad for anyone who can't get a cable or DSL line. Shouldn't they have gotten an unlimited Verizon plan a while back though? Then they could get MHS and stream HD video over LTE all day.

Re: WowIf not, they'd at least have unlimited EVDO. It's about equivalent to an old DSL line.

Net NeutralityIf Verizon really wants to pull in the customers, they need to make their Netflix competitor offer their video without usage caps ala Comcast's cap exempt Xbox 360 video service.

Re: Net Neutralityi absolutely agree with your assessment. i think they'll let users partake in redbox streaming and not count towards their montly gb allowance. clever way to get the customer to sign up for that service.
