| IOC and the DMCA There was an interesting wrinkle that I wasn't aware of regarding the IOC and their "copyright" over the 5 interlocking rings design. I've said before that, if they have to persue this, it should be from a trademark angle, not from a copyright angle. Well, it turns out that their 5 interlocking rings design was created in 1913. This means that any copyrights on them would be long expired (even with our ridiculously long copyright periods). Is the IOC trying to claim copyright on something that is in the Public Domain?
