Qwest Article

This is just a re-report on the Qwest article a month ago. No mention of the upload speeds in this one, oh and hey it says that Qwest is upgrading its fiber optic network.

Anyone else see this pattern? Company A defends attacks from Company Bs fiber roll out by basically downplay the usefulness of fiber while also touting their own fiber network as being a good thing. Well which is it your dumbass marketing dolts? Is it good or bad?

The irony is that Qwest has REPEATEDLY stopped the city of Seattle from rolling out their own Fiber to the Home Network, while refusing to do it themselves, saying that its customers dont want fiber speeds. NOTE: sister city of Tacoma (50 miles south of Seattle) spent their own money and wired up the city for fiber....in 1998!!

Charter Launches High-Speed Internet in Michigan

Since all those people defaulted on their loans and/or lost their jobs, they will have more disposable income for internet service?

Not seeing the sense in this decision.

Google wins source code ruling against Viacom

"However, the judge granted a Viacom motion that records of every video watched by YouTube users, including their login names and IP addresses, be turned over to the entertainment giant. "
WHAT? How is this even legal? More attention needs to be brought to this.

Oh that is BS.

How the hell can a Judge just order that all that confidential company information (and our privacy!) be handed over to a corporation for obvious nefarious reasons?

Wow, just WOW.

Google should appeal and then buy Viacom outright.

Re: Google wins source code ruling against Viacom

Unlike most publicly traded companies, Viacom is actually controlled by a single person, Sumner Redstone- the publicly traded shares are non-voting I believe. If Redstone doesn't want to sell, Google can't make him.
