South Korea Leads Globe in Wireless Penetration
As Sweden Leads Penetration on the Wireline Broadband Front
by Karl Bode Monday 23-Jul-2012 tags: business · bandwidth · stats · world
According to a new report by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Switzerland tops the globe in broadband penetration, with 39.9 subscribers per 100 inhabitants having a fixed broadband line. Globally, DSL still rules the roost accounting for 55.8% of all connections, though the technology continues to lose ground to cable (30%) and fiber to the home (13.7%). Meanwhile, South Korea tops the globe in wireless penetration, and is the first to top 100% with 100.6 subscriptions per 100 inhabitants. In wireless Mexico, Turkey and Hungary were the cellar dwellers in wireless penetration with 7.7 percent, 8.9 percent and 12.9 percent, respectively. The full data can be found here for those interested.

SK doesn't have 100% Wireless penetration

100.6 subscription per 100 inhabitants just means many users have more than 1 subscription. I hate it when stats are used to distort reality so badly.

And your point is...

Illustrates that wireless data services are more affordable, therefore, allowing the use of multiple carriers.

Anyone who travels or moves to Europe or the Asia/Pac, soon realizes just how much me get ripped off here. For example, I was able to buy a 10 Gb prepaid data card, using a HSPA+ 42mb service, that I could use over a year abroad. Yes 1 year..

Now compare it to what AT&T offers, which might I add, their prepaid service is heavily restricted and hampered.

So! Can they have multiple carries over 3.79 million square miles with a failing economy and have invented the telephone, television and mass production with the automobile? Ha! I thought so! Back to the drawing board with them! I will accept their corporation LG as a great thing. Yet, their Samsung was a step back, thus making that appreciation irrelevant!!! Ergo they fail! Invade North Korea already and show China we fear them not!

Be careful of your choice: Sammy is starting to behave like the rotten Apple.
