Orange TVNew 3G mobile service launching in UK ( old news - 10:38AM Saturday May 21 2005) tags: wireless · UK Orange, a provider of mobile phone service in the U.K., is launching a new 3G mobile entertainment service called "Orange TV" next week. The service will start off with nine channels - ITN News, CNN, Big Brother, Celebrity Love Island, Comedy Time, Cartoon Network, Toon World, Fashion TV and extreme sports. At the onset, only users of Orange's Nokia 6680 will be able download the free TV application from Orange World to use the service, additional handsets and channels are expected to be added in the future. | DVB-H This is one of those desparate attempts to make money of the 3G investments. Next year there will be mobile phones in Europe that support DVB-H, a mobile version of DVB-T. Then you can receive any digital terrestial TV channel on your mobile without using the expensive 3G network. | |
