Netflix is offering wireless users with low caps a rather simply bit of help in their efforts to play data-consumption limbo. According to a blog post by the company, they've released an update to their app for the iPhone that allows users to shut off cellular connectivity -- so that they'll only use in-range Wi-Fi networks. Netflix has repeatedly come out against bandwidth caps, noting that (on fixed networks anyway) they're completely untied to economic reality and exist simply to protect TV revenues. Still, they've shown they're adaptable in allowing users to deal with them, about a year ago giving users new video quality settings that allow them to consume less bandwidth at the cost of image quality.
