The cable companies have been in arguments with the NFL Network all year over the cost of carrying the channel. Some cable companies have refused to carry the channel entirely while others, like Comcast, offer it on a premium-priced tier. The NFL Network has gone so far as to take Comcast to court over the pricing issue (Comcast won, the network has appealed).

Today, the NFL Network received a legal notice from Comcast. The network’s representatives have been encouraging Comcast (and other cable) customers to leave the cable company and become customers of satellite TV.
“The channel's iwantnflnetwork.com Web site includes a box titled "MAKE THE SWITCH." Above a field to enter a zip code, the text reads, "Switch to a TV provider that will bring you NFL Network, not hold you hostage."”
Comcast’s cease-and-desist letter requests a statement in writing by the end of tomorrow which states that the network has stopped attempting to influence customers.
