@speakeasy.net | You get that with a $2 CID box. I bought a CID box for $2 on clearance. They're giving those things away. You get caller id, and a call log. All for $2.

| Device Lacks Purpose First, the device is ugly and second it lacks a true purpose and need.
Most people have routers on a shelf for a reason to avoid using precious desk space. Secondly in this day and age most people already have a phone with caller-ID so who the heck needs a box or a big clunky device to do that for them in this day and age. -- "Beer is Proof That G-D Loves Us and Wants Us to Be Happy" - Ben Franklin

| Re: Device Lacks Purpose I agree. I have Vonage and I have 4 cordless phones that run off of one box attached to my Vonage phone adapter hidden in a corner. All of the phones will show callerID, call logs, voicemail indicators, etc. If the internet is out, it will display that there is a connection problem. If someone is on a call, it will show "line in use".
This was just a set of phones I picked up at Best Buy, they weren't made for Vonage and they can be used on any service.

| Real question here is Is Vonage still working on that "workaround" to get Verizon off their nuts? Or are they still pushing newer and more innovative incentives to get more sign-ups?
Last I checked, my parents' Vonage router hasn't seen any firmware updates nor have they come up with any news on the matter.
