| Pot, Kettle, Black. EPB keeps talking about the monopoly that Comcast has while forgetting that they are also a monopoly.
While I hate Comcast they are hardly a monopoly here. They compete with Dish and Direct Tv for video, at least 2 dozen companies for voice with a good number of them providing their own plant. There are 4 or 5 local ISPs for data plus a good number of national ISPs. And there are also 3 WISPs in Chattanooga.
Moving the suit to Hamilton county is pretty much a win for EPB. This is one of the most corrupt governments in the country. I don't remember the count now but close to half of the city council have been arrested and convicted of various crimes. The county sheriff has been arrested and plead guilty to a host of crimes as well.
They are blind to how Comcast and AT&T will get down and dirty once EPB starts selling service. They really believe that 2/3s of Comcast customers will jump ship. |
