Missing man's body parts turn up in bay
(old news - 10:25PM Monday Dec 08 2003)
GALVESTON - Houston police arrested three men overnight in connection with the death of a man whose limbless torso and severed head were found bobbing in Galveston Bay.

Police said no charges have yet been filed against any of the three, who are being held for questioning in the death of Ranferi Arizaga.

Arizaga, whose driver's license lists him as 30 but who is listed as 31 by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, was reported missing Friday from his home in the 6800 block of Avenue T.

A fisherman found the torso in a suitcase floating near the Interstate 45 causeway to Galveston on Sunday. The fisherman managed to tow the torso about a mile to shore, but he tossed the empty suitcase back into the bay.

If you're going to dump a body, at least do it in the ship channel. Lately, there have been more body parts in Galveston Bay than fish.
