| Give Herbalife at least a bit of credit, they have a real product with some possible nutritional value. This is a real "virtual" scam, nothing but vaporware.
It may be true that there are some "real" profits for a few who get in early on the top of the pyramid. I find it interesting that those people are willing to lie, or let themselves believe, that getting some initial payment is somehow validation that the whole scheme is sound and viable.
This also goes to show that there is a certain percentage of people just too gullible, and another certain percentage of "newbies" who just haven't learned yet, who are not affected by "educational" solutions to problems like this.

I think there's a whole section of the population at the lower end of the IQ and educational range that you must not have ever had much contact with. I met quite a few in the military, and have had quite a few more work for me over the years. They get scammed this way all the time, and sadly it is some of the ones with the greatest personal honesty and faith in their fellow man who get fleeced the worst and most often.
That said, a lot of the people involved at least have enough intelligence and street smarts that they have to be suppressing the voice that tells them "if it looks too good to be true, it is", and instead are letting themselves be lured by the lure of some sort of "deal". And then there must be those who know it is probably a scam, but hope to be one of the lucky ones who make money by getting in early.

1 edit | CrapBoosted... I can't wait till after Oct 4 as Mr. S. Dixon noted on his post in that thread. I wonder what will happen when all the scammed people start complaining that they aren't getting what they've been promised. Obviously they won't see the 2MB broadband speeds JunkBoost... err JuiceBoosted says they'll get. Then I'd like to see the look on people's faces, like Mr. S. Dixon, when they realize what fools they have been to actually support this crap.
I like making money just as much as the person next to me. But I don't jump into things without doing a little bit of research. Hell, Mr Dixon knew about AOL and Microsoft and broadband. Which would leave us to believe that he at least knows a little bit about how dial-up and xDSL/Cable works.
Tell me Mr. S Dixon... how do you get 2MB out of a 56K line? And don't give me that crap about some super-duper compression bit. When you get your line going Mr S Dixon, why don't you swing on by and register. Then head on over to the Speed Test »/stest area, and post your speeds.
said by JuiceBoosted: "We can STOP your child from chatting to people who pretend to be children in chat rooms by using amazing breakthrough IP filtration and parenthesis technology."
That claim alone should raise a red flag! How is JuiceBoosted going to know whether I'm pretending to be a kid in a chat room from a Dynamic IP addy Mr S Dixon? Hell, I could head on over to the nearest CyberCafe, and go right back in to that same chat room with you kid(s)! How is JuiceBoosted going to know if I'm pretending to be a kid or not Mr S Dixon? How about if my kid (if for example I had any), wanted to chat with your kid, is JuiceBoosted's "breakthrough IP filtration and parenthesis technology" going to see my kid switching places with me?
Anyway, the world will see what happens to JuiceBoosted after October. What a load of horse feces.

Just thought I'd say that www.onspeed.com is not a scam as one member of this thread unwisely suggested. Onspeed is a real technology reviewed by all the top Computer magazines in the UK and it works very well indeed thankyou. Do not mention juiceboosted and onspeed in the same breath because people might actually believe you.
Juiceboosted indeed looks like onspeed, and why do you think that is? Well, Mugu scammers do it all the time, pick a real business with proven credibility, copy its website, making slight alterations, promise something that is too good to be true and harvest a load of email addresses for another scam.
SOOOO to reiterate, ONSPEED is REAL, JUICEBOOSTED IS NOT.

| Here's one possible way. said by teladi: how do they use people's email addresses for another scam?
Here's something that might reveal one source where the Juice scam is going to extract money from the masses. Juice claims to be cautious about affiliate spamming and requires that any e-mail service provider is approved by them.
So when a friend of mine put in to have his legitimate list of opt-in leads OK'd, instead he got back a list of Juice's "approved" e-mail service providers. When I saw this, it occurred me that Juice would be making their money from all these dupes using affiliated e-mail service providers. But then it got even more obvious.
One stands out to me as a potential scam that looks an awful lot like Juice's website in design and makes similar absurd claims. This is monopolizer.com, also located in London. They claim to guarantee thousands of sign ups to your affiliate program or downline including customer sign ups, beginning at a fee of 75 pounds.
They conveniently say they will work for free for pre- launch opportunities, then charge 9.5% at pay off. So all the Juice affiliates that are sent there would think, "Gee, I'm not risking anything if Juice doesn't pay out!" Then I could see Monopolizer saying, "Well, we signed up 10,000 downline customers for you at Juice (with Juice's statistical complicity, no doubt) and we charged your credit card our $3,000 commission. It isn't our fault Juice was a scam. Bye bye!"
They started up in June and there isn't any other information on the web about them being a potential scam. So I thought I'd introduce them here and see what people think. Isn't June about the time that Juice showed up?
Check them out:

| Re: Here's one possible way. I ordered Monopolizer's least expensive package of 1000 affiliates for $138 USD. They e-mailed me a proposal, (you don't actually pay unless you accept the proposal) which included some details and specifies how long it will take them to fill my order (23 days). I was going to give them a try, but now I'm not so sure. They don't take credit cards and they don't take any kind of payment services (PayPal, etc.). The only way to pay them is by check, money order, or bank transfer (you have to request their bank details for the bank transfer). In the USA they will only take a money order or bank transfer (they are located in London). I requested their bank details and they arrived quickly by e-mail, but I hesitate. It's hard to trust a company that can only accept payments by such archaic means. All the companies I have dealt with at least take PayPal. Also, they are kind of new. Does anyone else have experience using Monopolizer's services? | |

| Thanks for the info. Thanks for your information about monopolizer.com, which was more factual than my imaginary scenario. I've seen a few scams lately and I'm getting more and more skeptical. The best thing appears to be to proceed with caution and due diligence as you're doing.
On the subject of payment methods, Juice offered payment to affiliates by PayPal and bank wire, then reneged on it saying they will now pay everyone by check. I haven't read the other posts lately, but I assume everyone knows their site, which was supposed to be down for 5-10 days, will now be down around a month and returning October 1, when they were originally supposed to launch. They only mention bringing the site back up at that time and nothing about getting the software out to the customers or getting the affiliates paid that first week.
This down time just doesn't make any sense, since with the incredible exponential growth going on, they will have turned away hundreds of thousands of potential customers during this period. It is more consistent with the whole pattern of misinformation leading to their eventual disappearance. They appear to have gotten what they need and they're just biding their time before the jig's up.
They delivered none of the information they had promised my friend to fill in the details of their products and services in September. Plus, he can't see any of his stats during this whole situation. It's all vaporous and will probably soon waft away.

| About Faster Than Broadband (Juiceboosted.com) The www.juiceboosted.com (Faster Than Broadband) opportunity seems too good to be true (and too good to miss), as it offers FREE faster than broadband over a telephone line.
I have been giving considerable thought, over the past few weeks, as to how there could be a scam in it.
I have come up with this possibility, based on the following factors :-
On their website Juice say that you will need a modem to access the service. They state that on the 1st October they will send a small piece of software to access the FREE service. They are unwilling to explain how such a fast service can be achieved. (When experts say that normal phone lines cannot support fast transmission rates).
Looks innocuous, but what if the following scenario applies:-
Using a modem requires the subscriber to USE THEIR PHONE LINE.
The "SMALL PIECE OF ACCESS SOFTWARE" is a PREMIUM RATE NUMBER AUTODIALER (OR NUMBER DIVERSION PROGRAM DIVERTING TO A PREMIUM RATE DIALER).
By using people's hopes and trust they dupe people into expecting the service and anticipating the delivery of the "ACCESS" software. The autodialed number could be carrying a large cost, MAYBE AS MUCH AS £200 PER MINUTE or more !.
They know that by using viral marketing techniques, they are going to create a vast army of potential dialers.
Not all those people can be forewarned even if it is revealed that this IS a CON. Therefore, some people WILL run the software and autodial the service.
The 1st of October sees the delivery of, maybe, 10's of thousands of dialers to all the "AFFILIATES". Even if some do not run the software, they could become very wealthy, with the ones who do.
If you are an AFFILLIATE, I would suggest that, you do NOT run the "ACCESS SOFTWARE". Wait until it has been proven to give the FASTER THAN BROADBAND service as promised. Check with your upline to ascertain this.
|
| Computernerd Jeff
@net.nz | Re: About Faster Than Broadband (Juiceboosted.com)
If you think it maybe a dialer just get your phone service company to put a toll bar that requires you to put in a pin or something to be able to make toll calls? Or if you will never make a toll call then get them to put a permanent toll bar on.

| Juiceboosted & Monopolizer I read the theory posted about affiliates having to use approved marketing companies with interest. I followed all the procedures & ended up sending my £100.00 to Monopolizer to market my juiceboosted site. Up to now certain comments about these two being linked & one is making money out of the other seems a reasonable assumption.
However, my colleague also signed up for Juiceboosted & he followed me to Monopolizer only to be told that they limited the amount of subscribers for each promotion & he was too late as they were full. This does not support the scam theory at all.
I was involved with a very similar scheme some four years ago also with a London based company. This failed due to the overwhelming response & their servers could not cope. They said they would be back as soon as they sorted this out. Back then it was suggested that Virgin were behind it but that was never confirmed? Technology has moved on a pace since then & server capacity should now not be a problem.
The former service collected information about the sites you visited, when you visited them & how long you stayed. This info was converted into data & used to selectively market similar sites to you on a passive 'click on link' basis. The power (& their earnings) came from the very selective nature of the marketing by the 'inside' information they had on you. Also the size of their user base would be the largest in the world in about 18-months & growing. This would become the ultimate marketing tool on similar lines to Free Ad newspapers but with the world as its market & a far easier delivery.
The compression technology to reduce 'packets' of data has been developed over many years & much good work was done by Dr.Peter Carnel (Basingstoke UK)in the early '90's. Has it been perfected now? Juice claim to be using US military software, so it may be possible?
We shall find out when juiceboosted goes live, if it goes live.
