Insight is granting credit for lost service
Ice-storm refund limited to days home had power

Insight Communications customers who lost cable-television service during last month's ice storm can seek credit by writing the company.

Insight won't issue credit for days when a customer couldn't get cable reception because electricity was out. Such outages "are not the cable company's fault," Insight spokeswoman Reba Doutrick said.

But credit will be granted for the time when a customer had electric power and no cable service, she said.

Service has been restored to all but a few hundred cable customers, Doutrick said yesterday. Insight will be "working this weekend to clean up all of the strays" and expects to have all service restored by Monday, she said.
