| Looks pretty good... 7mb/1mb for $40/mo. is a good price. Could it be that they have such a small footprint compared to other ISPs that they are able to offer it at such a reasonable price?
In comparison, Comcast charges $59/mo. for their 8mb/768 service, and BellSouth (AT&T) charges $42.95/mo. (Plus $2.97 "regulatory fee") for their 6mb/512 service.... -- YourIP.US - It's Your IP .. and more! rr.cx - Personal Site.. coming soon.

In comparison, Time Warner Cable charges $34.85 month for 7 Meg / 512kbps. [At least locally anyways.]

BellSouth (AT&T-SE) no longer has a Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee that was dropped over a year ago.

1 edit | Hawaiian Telcom Hopefully this will force Oceanic Time Warner to be more competitive with their offerings. Since there is no FiOS here, the highest speed they offer is 8Mbps/512K for 54.90 a month (Road Runner Turbo).
The pricing for higher speed service is :
39.99 for 7Mbps service (with landline) 49.99 for 11Mbps service (with landline)
55.99 for 11Mbps service (without landline) 45.99 for 7Mbps service (without landline)
69.99 for MyChoice bundle (with 7Mbps service) 79.99 for MyChoice bundle (with 11Mbps service)
The only caveat is the 7/11Mbps service is only available to people living 8K or 6K feet from the CO.
Edit: Hawaiian Telcom is using FTTN/ADSL+2
