How many times have you seen a movie more than once? Paying $25 for a blu-ray you will only see once or twice is dumb.

Re: streaming = stupid

I think he's talking about the "Streaming MUSIC story"
I would agree that if it's music you think you will want on demand frequently, purchasing permanent rights and downloading to a local, rather then paying month after month for a streaming service and transport over and over makes more sense.*

On the other hand, in order to sample/try/hear/be exposed to new music which you might eventually purchase (if you really like it) a reasonably cheap streaming (either genre programable or not) is a good idea.

*If the OP is talking about illegally downloading it, then it is even less likely he would pay for streaming, and his comment would make little sense

Re: streaming = stupid

well he mentioned movies so maybe that's why I assumed he was talking about movies.

Ok say $10 a month for streaming music. $120 a year to access MILLIONS of songs. Or for $120 you can buy 120 songs a year. I guess it depends if you just like a few songs you want to listen over and over again or you like to listen to 1000's of songs or more.

Re: streaming = stupid

spotify has free and $5, and $10 plan
and most others are similar.
It's just a different choice for customizing radio.
My son's Tmo plan allows him to stream to his phone so with some bluetooth speakers in his car, he can get HIS "radio"/spotify/pandora/etc. wherever there is cell coverage, for some places (HERE!!) better than the local Fm and even AM can cover. it won't work for everybody, but it is an alternetive method that works well for some.

Re: streaming = stupid

Yeah I know Spotify has a free version I have that on my computer. My point is even if one was paying the $10 a month you get more music via streaming that buying songs.
