Adult Friend Finder settles without admitting guilt

The Federal Trade Commission cracked down on AdultFriendFinder.com, a site known for its pornographic pop-up ads. The site (recently rumored to have been purchased for an excessive amount by a buyer that could be Penthouse) reached a settlement with the FTC on the issue. Without admitting guilt, AdultFriendFinder.com agreed to alter its marketing so that the pop-up ads don’t turn up unexpectedly on people’s computers. One of the main complaints from people has been that the pop-ups expose their children to porn. A bigger concern of the FTC was the fact that spyware was embedded in the pop-ups without the consent of users. The new agreement is designed to ensure that customers must opt-in to receiving advertisements and can file complaints immediately on the site. No fines were imposed as part of the settlement.

I don't know any single guys personally that have had success on that site. I hear that a lot of the ads are generated to take you to pay sites or hook you up with escorts to pay for their "services".

Sh*t, if I was single, I would just go to church. Women (and mostly single) tend to outnumber the men there big time and some of them are closet freaks...Helen Homemaker in public but Wendy Wildwoman in the bedroom.

 Just like in any strip club, if you are willing to shell out tens of thousands of dollars, those hoes will crawl thru cable wire to get to you. There is nothing free about that site. The pop ups self install so you cant easily remove, they trick you to click on legitimate looking Myspace pages, then the hassle begins. You dont get to see much beyond popups till you pay a subscription fee, then you cant talk to anybody that hasn't paid their subscription fee. And you can't tell which ones they are. So it's all a big subcription fee circle jerk. The only ones you end up hearing from are the hoes who pay to get a few johns doing phone sex. Wave enough money at them, and they will crawl out into the open. But maybe they end up being cops and you just got stung? And did you end up caving to the cooes of a 16 year old? When cops sieze your pc, they find a ton of crap all loaded with that spyware. It makes you look like a life long pedephile and you will never get the benefit of the doubt from a jury. Look at that school teacher sentenced to 10years when spyware loaded the class pc. She was held responsible when those popups went wild in front of all those kiddies. Snit gets deep quick and it was never worth the hassle to start with. Its about time somebody shut that crap down. Much more trouble than its worth.

it's nice to see they finally got an ass reaming over something. i tried a 3 or 4 month subscription once a few yrs ago. i used an email address that i had and never used for anything in the yrs that i had it. it never got spam, infact it never got anything since it sat for yrs unused. with in 1 month after using it to subscribe to adult friend finder it was getting upwards of 200 porn spams aday. i wrote adult friend finder and thanked them for selling my email adress. never got a reply.

my experience on adult friend finder showed me that the women that post on there aren't to far removed from ur common ho. save ur money...
