FCC Delays Neutrality Rulemaking
Given they'd have no authority to enforce said rules...
The FCC yesterday issued a public notice today (pdf) that claims to be looking to clarify several definitions in the network neutrality debate. Of course what the agency is really doing is delaying any real decision on new network neutrality rules -- given they lack the proper authority to enforce them after their court loss to Comcast. Instead, the FCC's working hard behind the scenes on their effort to partially reclassify ISPs as common carriers, after which (assuming they can navigate the gauntlet of deep-pocketed carrier lobbyists fighting the idea) they'll be able to craft traffic non-discrimination rules they can actually enforce. In other words, sometime around 2027.

delay to avoid acting

nothing will come of this.

FCC will not reclassify as title II and will delay any action that might even be remotely construed as network neutrality regulation or rules.

eventually, ISPs will own the internet just like they own the government.

The real question is will AT&T, Comcast, and Verizon control the U. S. military when Americans become so frustrated with being ripped off that they take up arms against the ISPs?

And the real answer to that real question is: "Yes!"

Perhaps someone needs to actually define network neutrality.

There is a whole lot of obfuscation out there that makes sense when looked at in certain uninformed (based on your perspective) perspectives.

Until then, the Guv will do what they will do as they have always done (act by the loudest voices or act on their predisposition unless proven otherwise).
