08:13PM Friday Aug 28 2009 by David
The following servers are being retired and will not be put back online.

8/27/2009: mail.nvbell.net and smtp.wans.net

8/28/2009: smtp.prodigy.net and smtp.flash.net

8/31/2009: smtp.snet.net and mail.swbell.net

9/1/2009: mail.pacbell.net and smtp.sbcglobal.net

9/2/2009: mailhost.chi.ameritech.net

Customers are suggested to use the following:

smtp.att.yahoo.com
•port:465
•SSL:on

You are also allowed to use your own 3rd party SMTP server. This change will not affect those services.

So far I have recieved no information on any other servers being closed. I was also advised that if you were using these servers, you should have recieved notice via e-mail by now. This is a more public notice.

If there is any questions please post them below, or IM me: David See Profile

08/31/09- Additional note

I have gotten some messages about smtpauth.sbcglobal.net and is it not on the list. At this time I have recieved no notice on that particular server and neither has my counterpart that gave me the information. At this time I can only assume that server is not affected by these being closed down. Most people using these servers was back in early 2000 or later.
