E Coli Found In Ellington Acres Water Supply

Residents Advised To Boil Water Before Use

ELLINGTON, Conn. -- Officials in Ellington say it's not safe to drink the water in many parts of town.

E coli bacteria was found Thursday in the Ellington Acres water supply. At least 1,000 residents were told to boil water before using it.

Dennis Milanivich, Ellington's first selectman, confirmed that the water is unsafe to drink.

The affected areas are:

North of Maple
East of Jobes Hill
South of the Sommers line
East of Route 83
