Another month brings another increase in local foreclosures.

The number of Dallas-Fort Worth area homes faced with foreclosure rose 19 percent for April compared to a year earlier.

More than 4,100 D-FW homes are on next-month’s foreclosure list.
Dallas County has the largest number of pending foreclosures – 1,814 homes, Addison-based Foreclosure Listing Service said Thursday.

But the biggest increase is in Denton County, where there is a 40 percent jump in pending foreclosures from April 2007’s totals.

“Denton County is on fire for foreclosures,” said Foreclosure Listing Service CEO George Roddy. “There has been a huge amount of development in Denton County.
