As expected, Clearwire today announced the launch of their Mobile WiMax network in ten additional markets -- most of them smaller cities and towns in Texas. In addition to Boise, Idaho and Bellingham, Washington, the company launched the service in eight Texas markets, including Abilene, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Killeen/Temple, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Waco and Wichita Falls. According to Clearwire, these launches bring their market total to 14 markets, which potentially reach over 10 million people. Given Sprint is launching their own 4G services via the Clearwire network, they not surprisingly also today announced Mobile WiMax launches in both Boise and Bellingham.

Now I’m just waiting on the press release from Verizon letting us know LTE is almost here.

Pure arrogance! LA and NYC have multiple options for high speed Internet (not saying that Clear is "high speed" though). For many rural users, Clear may be the only option. BTW, I've been to NYC and LA, and they're anything but "real."

Am I am sure when LTE arrives VZW will let have it without a hard cap and for 50 bucks or less a month right? Not holding my breath

I just checked and there coverage map doesn't show those area of Texas on the coverage map.

Esplain... do you mean you have it and it's bad? Do you have the new 'mobile' Wimax hardware or the pre-wimax version. Mobile is way mo betta.

I have had the old ' Clearwire ' for over 5 years. Worked great. Was sent the new 'Clear' modem last month. Hooked up wouldn't hardly work. When it did, would lose all the time. Speed was WAY down when locked. Have gone back to old one, until they turn it of on Oct 1.

Mount Vernon, WA		 Had the old Modem for over 5 years, worked GREAT. Got new one last month. Hardly locked, sometimes. SLOW when did. Have gone back to old one until they turn off old system Oct 1st.

yes WI-max is first to market but have you looked at the coverage areas they are ity bitty teeny weenie not sure how proud I would be, I think it will be tel 2013 b4 ether company is proud to show anyone a coverage map
