| Remember the last time? Can you even remember the last time a cable company did something BOLD and viewed as a positive development by the majority of subscribers?
Faster internet speeds are very slow to arrive amongst smaller cablecos.. where little competition exists.

| You already have an order in for 10mb? Or do you think you will get auto-bump'd to 10? I wouldn't hold my breath for the latter.
Here's a quick clue: visit charter.com, type in a neighbors address that doesn't have charter and see what package options show up. If the 10mb package is available then CALL and get upgraded. Don't wait for them to upgrade you automatically, because it probably will take a while!

If Charter does not give me 10MB, even though I only pay for 5MB, I'm walking. As a matter of fact, when I switch to DSL or FIOS, if they don't give me free upgrades, I'll leave them too.

| Getting bumped up? Other price & speed changes are accompanying the 16Mbps tier. Charter's 3Mbps tier will be bumped to 5Mbps, the 5Mbps service will be upgraded to 10Mbps service, and the company's 10Mbps tier will be boosted to 16/2Mbps.
I asked my Charter csa about the above statement and he said no they arent moving the 5mg customers to the 10 mg service, surprise, surprise! so now with every one at 5 mg I have a lot of trouble running online games again....

As soon as Charter puts 16/2 in Texas Fios areas Fios will increase our speeds to 20/5 for the same price as 15/2 and 20/20 for the same as 15/15.

| it it coming.. As an installer for Charter, I can tell you that it is coming soon. We have been told to be ready for increased modem installs in April, once the new service tier goes live.
This would suggest that 16meg should be out soon at leased in my area (SoCal).

| Charter So Charter is deploying 16/2 yet they are going to metered service? Please Charter, stop increasing your tiers so we will hit our cap that much sooner. As a matter of fact, drop us back down to 3megs. So I won't have an insane high internet bill.
Everyone is saying 16meg is coming? How about this. Worcester isn't getting it until 09. So next year when it is ready, then start talking. But you'll get an advertisement in the mail when it's ready. Yeah? I just got a 10meg advert 1.5 years after it was available. And please take down the signs in your local office if you can't offer what your advertising.
Thanks! | |

| Re: Charter Hey everyone! It's markopoleo. The sole supporter of Charter. I guess 99% of educated Charter customers are wrong. And your right?
Keep talking. Because guess what? Charter has 9 BILLION hanging over there heads. And it isn't getting prettier.
Charter...sucks. If they didn't..I wouldn't say they did. Charter is cheap, if they weren't I would not say this. Overpriced and lackluster in everything they do, if they were not, I would applaud and support them. Nor would half the planet whose views, are opposite of yours.
It's not hard. The same stuff has been being said in the Charter forum almost a decade later. Please tell Charter to offer a good product for a good price. Do not sell 16/2 home tier for 80 bucks a month. I am not the bad guy. Your not the bad guy. Charter is. Offer good product with good pricing. Charter does neither and hasn't since they stepped foot in the industry. Do you see that the same review and negative ratings have been going on FOR ALMOST A DECADE?
The CEO comes in the call center? How about this Mr Charter CEO, give the workers a freaking raise. Trim the useless wood in management that are sucking up money. That could go to, HEAVEN forbid, an actual network upgrade that isn't of HUD design. Pay the techs who rollout and support Charter. If you come in again Mr CEO and if your not bringing Dunkin Doughnuts with ample supply of coffee, don't even bother showing your face. Unless you work OT and help out with the calls.
I can even indulge in opinions of mid level and lower managers that I know personally who worked for Charter. And the tune is the saaaammmeee thing.
There is no reason to like them. None.

| So now you say Charter isn't planning to go to a metered model? Man. You just support them blindly huh? If the industry is hell (figuratively speaking) support Microsoft. At least they're Satan. Supporting Charter is like advocating Windows ME changed the course of technology. God man. | |

| Response to jarablue jarablue.........................
"they are going to metered service."
You read too much. Go with what you know.
Lastly, do you have a choice in your internet service?
Are you the one that has 2 cable modems and basically doubling the speed? (no specifics please)
Are you the one that had no idea what you paid for you internet service because your spouse paid the bills?
If you can get 20/2 for +$150 or more a month, (2 modems) you have your speeds, and don't care about the price.
Just confused.................. Or, maybe.................
Oh forgot, "I love my speeds"
