For example, it was reported that the Captain Copyright web page uses two quotes about ISBNs from Wikipedia, but fails to follow the requirements of Wikipedia's GNU license by providing a direct link back to the source article or even acknowledging the GNU license as required by Wikipedia.

| captain copyright caught copying? The entertainment industry respects no copyrights except their own! Sometimes I wonder if they are aware that they are not the only ones who own copyrights.
I'd love to see the MPAA or RIAA sued for copying/publishing/distributing something they don't own! Just imagine the field day the lawyers and PR people would have.

Most are rehashed from earlier movies. You could make the argument that these ruthless bullies don't legitimately own any copyrights. The music industry is mostly a racket. If you expect any kind of success as an artist, all but only a very select few have any real options other than abiding by the extortion-like tactics of the RIAA's members.
The RIAA just barely skirts the law in some of their practices, and wherever necessary, they can toss gobs of money at politicians to ensure that the laws are modified to benefit and continue their "business" of coercion.

I say for every visitor to their site with the violation of copyright, For every student that saw the copyright violation, Fine the MPAA $150,000 per each student and web hit. It's high time a rule was borrowed from the RIAA playbook
WTF message are they really sending out to students..The do as I say not as I do? Talk about lying hypocrites.
One can not expect the scales of justice to apply equally, not when a corrupt system has been bought and paid for by dirty money, which has given' us DMCA,DRM,Sony root kits...etc etc.
In most cases i agree to the, What comes around goes around. However in this instance the outcome has been decided by corporate money,as i do not expect to see (a go around) unfortunately -- Bass....the glue of rhythm and harmony...the heartbeat of the band.! | That is to be expected but I already know someone whose working on it who owns a public radio station. I wish him the best of luck and this is simply more things to his favor. You can never expect the same type of justice in this corrupt government but that does not stop him for at least trying. There shall be a day when the RIAA and MPAA will go down. Until then I am holding off but I support anyone against them.
If you keep on thinking that nothing can be done you will most likely remain that way (unable to do nothing). If you want something changed you will need to put some serious effort into it even when all the cards point to you losing.
Always expect the unexpected.
The same people who are robbing from the customer are robbing the very artists they put on the air and eventually eat off anyone like a leach. They are also attacking XM Radio over allowing customers to store music on there portable devices to listen too later. Yet at the same time this goes against them because they allow people who have an iPod do the same thing.
They enjoy favoritism, what they won't get from one person they will get from another, the most naive one will always be the first to go down. They are also asking for more royalties from public radio stations. They also practice Payola. Although they where caught doing this, there still doing it only through a third party though. A under the table agreement.
There is a lot more to what the RIAA is doing other than just to customers. They are screwing over the very people who made them the big business player's they are now. Kind of like a spoiled child hitting on his always supportive mother.
Artists and musicians should look for better alternatives like »magnatune.com or small indie labels that support common sense practices, just remember all indie labels are not clean though so choose wisely.
