Touchscreen device with 7-10 inch display, via Verizon?
12:26PM Thursday May 21 2009 by Karl Bode

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster set Apple fanboy hearts a'flutter this morning with the news that Apple is probably working on a 7-10" touchscreen tablet aimed at shaking up the netbook market. That supports previous rumblings that Apple and Verizon were in talks to offer both an "iPhone Lite" and a tablet computer fueled by EVDO (or LTE, or both). With Verizon planning to launch LTE in up to thirty markets in 2010, LTE and an Apple tablet would make fairly obvious marketing bed partners.

That will be $200 more than a normal netbook thank you

As the subject says. Apple will simply be class of its own but will also come with a hefty price tag, even for something that is supposed to be a cheaper alternative...

If it really is a tablet it will easily be worth it. But if it's a tablet, it will be $800 more than a normal netbook.

Maybe it would but who cares. Most netbooks are taking market share away from higher margin machines from the same companies and are cutting into the overall revenue. Apple is not interested in selling things barely above cost just to get market share like other companies are willing to do.

As do I, plus it has a `10inch screen, 1.66ghz atom, 2 gigs of ram, and a 160gig hard drive..... In addition, I get 6 hours battery life in OSX & 9 in windows.

It compliments my MacPro and MacBook pro rather nicely when i want to carry around something protable (under 500 dollars) and dont want worry about breaking it

Battery not removable. 400 charge cycles or some other typical bullshit that comes along with the crap and overpriced products that Apple continue to manufacturer, market, and sale.

I have an original iPhone 2G, 2 years old, which still works perfectly fine on the original battery. In fact, it gets better battery life today than it did when I bought it thanks to software updates that have improved power savings features. Pretty good for a non-removable battery I'd say.

Netbook/Tablet Hybrid

Tech fragments is suggesting that it will actually be a netbook/tablet/media hybrid device.
