Alpharetta is about to get a new upscale barbecue and blues joint, run by veteran restaurateurs Dave Filipowicz, Jay Swift and Andrew Fotos.

The new restaurant, called Smokejack, specializes in smoky pork barbecue straight from the pit, plus poultry, fish and other meats prepared on a wood grill.

The restaurant gets its name from the device that turns a roasting spit, and is scheduled to open in mid- to late-December.
Smokejack's owners bring decades of experience to the table in this new venture.
