I think it is a door that leads to a tunnel underground were as usual ATT is cooperating with the Government to spy on Moles and sometimes people. The Squirrels are in on this one to, why do you think Squirrels always use telephone wires to run on and sometimes bite?
Hmmm can I pay ATT to put one of these in my yard? How much does it cost? Can I make them an offer? Does it come in environment friendly green?
I will take 2 of them if I can afford it one for each side of my house.

Still nothing available here and I doubt at the rate AT&T crawls there will be anytime soon. I am about 250 cable feet from the VRAD. Have listened to the fans humming for the last year everytime I walk by it. The part I find amazing is how much are the utility bills and maintenance on the boat anchors every month? Just to think I am constantly reminded to conserve power with the mass flyers from the power company and AT&T installed and powered up a VRAD that uses more power than I do in a month, and sits there and delivers service to no one. They should just shut them down until they decide to deliver what they promised to deliver last September.

| Re: Finally I am frustrated with the promises they make. I called the toll free Uverse number last September when the original go live date was to be. AT&T at the presentation to the City said we would be the first to go live, and that is why they needed the agreement. Seems they went live in the Bay Area before we did. In September I was told it would be a few months more. In November when I renewed my DSL Contract I was told a few weeks. In January the Uverse folks said, February at the latest. In February I was told a month at the most. I was taught 1 month was approx. 30 days, but in the AT&T Corporate World, it must mean 1 year. The service sounds like it beats TW, and I own all my Sat equipment, which I have been told I need to upgrade to a leased model to get the additional HD channels. AT&T really needs to get it together if they expect to attract new customers. On a side note - I was told no on the 6MB package, posted in the Direct Forum and they took care of me. That is one part of AT&T that delivers and keeps us happy. | |

| AT&T tried cable here - but when told they would have to furnish service to the poor side of town as well as the rich(er) sides, they took their marbles and left. Comcast came in and did it (of course, I do hear mixed stories on Comcast service).
It will be interesting over the next few years to see if the "have-nots" will stay "have-nots" or if this really will work. Although, if most surveys are held like they normally are, if just one person in the poorer areas has service, then of course that entire area is fully served!
I also wonder if the people in various communities will have a choice of providers, or just a choice between Direct-TV or AT&T? -- I am not lost, I find myself every time.

| Sigh.. Dear AT&T,
Might I suggest that you simply drop Uverse and get into something that might actually wind up gaining you some customers in the future?
I'd hardly think that the current reports of you now having a whopping 7,000 uverse customers is very indicative of a service that is going anywhere.
I realize that a) Your CEO is retiring soon and b) probably hates to rock the boat before he leaves and c)springing on your shareholders that they need to spend 25 Billion instead of 5 isn't going to sit very well with them initially but
d)FTTH is the ONLY answer that will work.
The ONLY one.
Uverse, in comparison to what the likes of Comcast ALREADY offers, is DEAD..out of the gate. Your dog will not hunt.
He's drooling hopelessly and the gate hasn't even opened yet.
But yet, you expect, that it's this dog that will sustain you in the years to come.
How wrong can you be?
Do you understand that it's going to take a WHOLE lot for you to even begin to attack the cable company on their home turf? Do you realize how entrenched these customers are to their cable co's?
If you're going to try to sell them something, it needs to be a)better priced than what they have and b)offers them something more than what they have
Can you imagine a Uverse salesman at my door telling me I can get 5.5Mb internet with them, when I already have speeds up to 20Mb right now?
I am going to laugh him off my doorstep.
My dog is going to chase him out of my yard.
You do NOT have what it takes to compete with Uverse.
Verizon management did not just sit around one day and go ...jeesh..I think we'd just love to blow 20 billion of our shareholders money on rewiring our whole service area. They thought that out very carefully and decided that a)the cable co's were coming after their phone customers..and b)they'd damn well better be in the triple play business themselves if they wanted to survive.
And now, Verizon has hundreds of thousands of FIOS customers..and you have 7,000.
I mean..duh.
Can we paint a clearer picture for you here?
DROP..the uverse..and get on the FTTH bandwagon.
Or you just might not have a company in 5 years to even talk about. -- The Coyote captured the RR! Roadrunner Rick is now Comcastic!
