2HD streams + Internet and DVR service etc on a VDSL line. It's no wonder they can't deliver it all yet.

| So... what is it going to be? So, faster broadband speeds are coming for Internet use and the current 6mbps limit will not be applied to U-Verse? Did they indicate what possible speeds could be? This post mentions 100mbps @ 1400 feet - is that for the total service or just for end-user internet use? Finally, I'm curious if these faster speeds will be available to DSL users too?
If AT&T were to start offering real, competitive internet access speeds at say 20mbps-50mbps, then I can swallow their ugly build-outs. But, ugly build-outs all over town, just so a few folks can get another TV reception capacity... to heck with that!

| Hindsight Their bad business decisions are catching up with them earlier than I could have even imagined!
Cutting corners for immediate profit is never a good idea and can have a major negative impact on future earnings. They should have bitten the bullet, invested in FTTH, and been a little more patient.
The thing that is so stupid about this is that they more than likely made a conscious decision to use inferior technology. When you take into account that they are Cherry Picking the crap out of the U.S. and not even fully deploying U-Verse, then you see how monumentally bad of a move that they have made. I mean at least fully deploy the upgrades to your system, even if it is only FTTN! Your going to have to go FTTH eventually anyway, you could have saved some money.

| AT&T banked on U-Verse literally being a last mile technology. The problem is it's only good for about two-thirds of a mile and the average home is closer to two miles from a telco CO. More VRADS and pair bonding will work but at some point the increased costs come too close to doing FTTH in the first place. | |

| AT&T "Fuzzy Math" How many months ago was it that AT&T reported 25,000 users? About 3 or so?
Today..they report 40,000.
But claim they're adding about 600 per day...which previously was supposed to be about 1000 per day per the uverse fan club here at BBR.
Hmmm..lets see now. 3 months = about 93 days. 93 days x 600 = 55,800
55,800 + 25,000 = 80,800.
80,800 - 40,000 = 40,800 UVERSE MIA's.
The REAL numbers nationwide wouldn't HAPPEN to look like this, would they AT&T?
40,000 - 25,000 = 15,000 15000/91 = 164 new customers per day.

| Because they haven't had 600 adds per day for the last 3 months. They are doing 600 adds a day NOW. If you want to know the average number of adds per day, do some math.
40,000 - 25,000 = 15,000 15,000 / 93 = 161
So obviously their new installs have been increasing over time.

| ROFLMFAO So where is my favorite troll CWH now????
I've been telling everyone for a very long time how AT&T won't be delivering all these promised `features` like whole-house DVR, multiple HD streams, 100+ HD channels for a very long time.
I could see it coming a mile away so I resigned up for DirecTV for 2 years. I now enjoy HD DVRs in all of my rooms and in just a few short months ( not years ) I'll be enjoying 100+ HD channels.
HAHAHAHA ... and don't think FTTP could save AT&T. I've got FTTP from AT&T and it is having a hard time just maintaining a measly 5MBps without being slowed down from the oversold, underprovisioned backbone.

VRAD just installed over the last month 2 houses down and connected to our older phone neighborhood network box in my backyard. Glad they didn't have to also put the VRAD in the backyard too.
Once the AT&T has U-verse humming along rather than the chugging it seems to be doing now might finally get Comcast to rethink their pricing(yeah right!).
With comcast getting close to shutting of cheap analog cable, few people I know that still have comcast are now looking to change.

| Well, they're making a fourth & fifth pass in neighborhoods where they have installed the infrastructure.
Really trying to make sure they convert everyone they possibly can...and lots have. But then I've heard of a couple of instances where they were told to come out and get their kit, the customer was going back to cable.
This was after dealing with overheating Motorola boxes and field techs not able to get the customer set up they way they wanted to be set up in the time the customer wanted.
Uverse trucks have been seen coming back to some of these installs for DAYS and then back again a week or two later. The investment in time reminds me of when ATT was doing the house mounted dishes but worse. Of course some of this is local startup issues with staff I'm sure.
But the foot sellers were out again recently after a few months since we saw them last...they don't want a single house to go unturned in a neighborhood where they made this investment in infrastructure.
Oddly I knew about Proj. Lightspeed long before anyone in this neighborhood and was anxiously awaiting it...but I've decided to hold off. I had expected better package pricing than what they are presenting and I'm not motivated by the TV deal. I'm happy with DSL and I don't watch that much TV. (Don't get me wrong, I am NO fan of the Cable Company either)
The realization that there's sunk cost in the equipment and fiber into the neighborhood that ONLY this neighborhood can pay for just struck me when I saw the ATT sales staff out on foot again recently. They are going to be motivated to pick up every house they can. It's quite a bit different than the DSL game.
So, I wonder when it goes "on sale"? Interesting to ponder them pricing this by neighborhood, factoring in adoption rate and general household income levels. Nah, they'd never do that.
