$15-$20 on top of Sprint charges for video, e-mail...
(old news - 02:34PM Tuesday Feb 13 2007)
tags: business · wireless · cable
Time Warner Cable today began selling wireless phone service in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Austin, Texas. Pricing ranges from $15 a month and go up to $25 a month for Internet & e-mail, which is on top of the price of Sprint mobile phone service. Once locals pick a Sprint calling price plan, they then need to choose a TWC Multimedia plan. The $15 basic plan offers unlimited web & e-mail access. The $15+ enhanced plan offers a la carte video channels. The $25 Premium plan offers additional video. Channel a la carte pricing ranges from $5-$9.

As we've previously noted, Time Warner won't be bundling the service with existing VoIP or broadband bundles, but they are offering some integration of services. Time Warner Digital Phone customers get free mobile-to-home and home-to-mobile calling, as well as an integrated voice mail box. The service also offers users four music channels and local news video streams. As an aside, TWC officially became a public company today.Update a user in our comment section points to similar service pricing from Cox.

Someone will want this?

Ok, last I checked it was $15/month for Power Vision. $25 on top of that ($40 total) for PAM. Both are very capable of watching video, much of which Sprint has on its own portal. E-mail? Also very easy to get without some package from TW.

Even better, until the end of February, use openaccess10@sprint.com and there will be no questions asked. It is a promo they (Sprint) are running this month.
(And yes, I have this plan and it is fantastic!)

That's a little deceiving if your looking at surfing the web with your phone as a modem. Unlimited data just means you can use your phone to access the web (i.e., weather channel, sprint music store, etc). Does not mean you can hook it to your laptop and surf the web. You get what's called a the 3g/vision pack or evdo pack which allows your phone to connect to the internet. That unlimited "data" is just looking at the internet on your phone.

I think most clear-headed honest people know they are referring to unlimited data on the phone ONLY.

Does not mean you can hook it to your laptop and surf the web.
...Exactly.

Re: Lemme save you all the hassle

With Sprint you must sign up with a plan they call Phone As Modem. Which is $39.99 PER month on top of your service plan. Its dial-up speeds if you have a Vision Phone and Power Vision is broadband.

That's my point. people will read the post and say "cool, unlimited data" and not having the grey matter to separate the 2 when it comes to web/data use.

Its a great deal until sprint scans for fake addresses, cuts you off, takes you to court and then reports you for theft by deception...

I know it happens, since I have many friends who work at Sprint. You may get away with it for a few months, but it will catch up to you.

And it should be noted that all employees have 12 accounts that they can sign up at the discounted rate.

Of course this won't be a problem if the consumer uses the phone as stated in their service plan & contract.

Just because they say unlimited data doesn't give the consumer the right to host a server off the phone... Hypothetically speaking.

There are a number of email addresses that have been set up specifically for people to get SERO. (Example here)

I know it happens, since I have many friends who work at Sprint. You may get away with it for a few months, but it will catch up to you.
Cite, please...I have yet to see any mention of this sort of thing happening over on HoFo or other cell phone forums.

Besides, given the way Sprint is bleeding customers, they don't need to be losing even more by dumping/suing/etc. them...

Sure it's nice and all but it's illegal and people have been cut off doing so. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you work for Sprint. What you can do and it's not illegal is ask to speak to a higher up and say you want to cancel. They can go back into the past and select a package for you that's no longer sold for way cheaper cost.

I got my mother 49.99 with 1000 minutes unlimited mobile to mobile, and 7pm night's and weekends for a total of 55 dollars per month + taxes.

Not bad

Not too bad if you look at what you get for that 15 bucks.

Sure wish Comcast would get this!

Same as Sprint

the TWC pricing is the same as Sprint-Nextel. The only thing is the TV channels and the Home to Cell minutes as a mobile to mobile call. You can get it with Sprint but its $5 per month but you have to sign up with Sprint/Embarq long distance at 5cents per minute. Other wise not much really going on.
