Torrentspy, isohunt, Lokitorrent (shutdown), and Suprnova.org (shutdown) are a few examples of sites that essentially provide(d) the same kind of warez searchability.
That's why they've been targeted so heavily recently.

| Well see soon what the mpaa will do The only torrent site that I think is safe is piratebay.org because there done from another country and they dont have the same laws as the u.s. regaurding piracy they have a nice little section of legal threats from about every major company including mpaa all the way up to microsoft there replies are pretty funny as well because basically all there threats are empty because they cant do sh*t but if you gonna use em I would advise using peerguard2 as a back up just in case your being watched I like to think of it as a condom over my zonealarm :P. | |

So what if there are innocent among them, I can't stand by and see Britney Spears travel around in a gulfstream 4 instead of a gulfstream 5.

| Well, one of the most popular site is TPB and its based in Sweden and in Sweden the Supreme Court have ruled that linking to things are okay so TPB is ok to run. That is why they are a bit rude in their responses to various lawyers that threatens them.
Justice dept? The same that says its ok to torture people? Really... US justice is laughable. The more money you have and/or the whiter you are, the more can you get away with. Don't get me started about US justice.
You don't seem to know what the music biz is doing and how they rape democracy to get what they want. What they want is not always what is good for the people and what is right. They view things from only one side and politicians should view from all sides but they don't do that any longer because lobbyists scream louder than what you and me can. I have NEVER seen an independent report that says that the music business is actually losing money because of this. I have seen lots of reports that says that music biz is losing money to other business like Games and Movies. People spend their money on other products instead of music and its the music business own fault since they release crappy products.

| I am so sick of these billionaires whining over their lack of ability to take my hard earned money for products I cant even get service for when I pay for them (and personally I do). You tell me how these guys are losing money if a poor person who has the ability to get a few movies or programs for cheaper than retail decides to do that and download a few torrents. You are buying in to these greedy, and morally sick, peoples point of view. When a billionaire cries about a ten dollar program, or an outrageously priced twenty dollar movie, it is nothing but greed. In a time when children are kidnapped and raped, innocent poor people are put to death, and racist indignations abound you want to spend time trying to prosecute a few poor people for outsmarting these rich bast***s. We live in a twisted time. | |

| DMCA If he acquiesces to all the DMCA requests, he can run the site with full legal shielding.
Of course, since that allows the MPAA and RIAA to bury him in paper, it's not a very practical option, and shows the chilling effect of the DMCA, but there you have it.

| Smart move by Bram Well, he covered his ass legally, just read the disclaimer etc at the bottom of the site . .you basically agree to allow the site to whore out your information to anyone, including the xxAA and whoever. So if you use his search for illegal stuff, they will nail your ass.
Maybe not this time, maybe not next time, but eventually.
IMHO if your going to trade illegal stuff, do it the old fashioned way . .just trade with your friends . .borrow Cd's . .whatever.
