Perhaps if someone started a www.whycomcastsucks.com page and got some publicity about it Comcast would start paying attention to what matters vs. what looks sexy to hype on the dumbed down TV commercials they run.

| Seems to work fine with Mozilla 1.7. I'm not a ComCast subscriber though.
With the Flash Click To View extension installed, the page comes up pretty quickly, since the bloated Flash interfaces don't load until I choose to load them.

Incidentally, does anyone know what causes that to happen? I know exactly what's happening. Here's how to work around it:
1. Set your browser to prompt for cookies. 2. Accept the first cookie Comcast offers. 3. Decline all others. 4. Reset your cookie blocking settings to the way they were previously.
This should leave one persistent cookie from Comcast and the problem should go away.

What needs to happen is people actually taking the time to tell Comcast (or whomever) that we do not want content. We want better pricing, customer service, speed, etc.

| portal - smortal well it's just as bad as the old one .. wait worse - it doesn't fit in an 800 x 600 browser window.. and it's 100% flash (!?!) so sad.
I haven't yet tested it for FF usability, i'm sure it won't work well in it.
suggestion: Comcast, give up on the portal idea. Use the resourses for network enhancements. -- Webmaster Steve - - - - - - - - - - - - »ppnhosting.com »sphenterprizes.com »pokemonpalace.net

1 edit | Price drop, please Prices ran up about 1 month ago. I'm almost paying a full 50.00 for cable internet & that's with the TV discount. With basic cable + internet, my bill is about 109.00 before tax.

| Increase Web based Services Comcast needs to improve online services and then I will use the portal.
Right now I can only check and pay my bill. I don't want just another news/fluff feed. I want value add. Comcast is trying to be a content company, they are a delivery company and should stick to delivery.
How about....
- Add or remove channels/packages online - Order pay-per-views online (avoid NetFlix completely) - For those w/o a PVR, have an online channel guide for your service area - Online ratings (here is a revenue source!...rate a show!)
If they really want to think out of the (cable) box...
- Offer an online PVR that I can schedule and view remotely - Check the status of my broadband account (how much Gb did I upload this month) To help people avoid the dreaded violation letter. - Customer Service Quality Surveys, let them know if the service they provide is cutting it
That's for starts anyway.

| Disable Firewall? Looks like Comcast wants users to 'uninstall' all firewalls before installing their Security Manager program.
Link here: »comcast.net/security/manager/
Doesn't sound like good practice to be 'uninstalling' anything (especially one's firewall) just to load more software. Is this an error on Comcast's part, or just bad software coding? I don't know about you...but I can't imagine giving up my firewall for Comcast (not to mention that it's not possible to uninstall Windoze's firewall).

How Shameful of them to tell the end user to uninstall redundant software; we could all use more concerned about security but computer illiterate users running NAV, AVG, PandaAV, McAfee, Spybot, Adaware, and MS Anti-spy, ZoneAlarm and Comcast Security manager all at the same time in realtime scanning mode, trying to track down that spyware that's slowing their system to a crawl. -- Dear Hollywood:Shut up and dance monkey!
