I really doubt much can be done, unless the cheat involves hacking the Army's servers. Most deathmatch cheats are based on texture manipulation, radar, and aiming aids. This is usually done client-side. AFAIK, hacking your own computer is not considered cybercrime, and although ethically it is wrong, I don't think it is criminal. I play UT alot, and the plethora of aimbots makes most online play suck. Luckily, server includes such as PURE and CSHP keep the majority honest for a little while. Why doesn't the Army put out some client purity check routine? Not entirely correct there. You do not own the game on your system. You have a licencse to use said game. Read the EULA. As for most of the cheats being client side that may be true, BUT those cheats do affect the coding of the swr that you have agreed not to alter. Again its in the EULA and TOS. By doing so you have violated the swr license that YOU agreed and can now be held accountable for such action. -- My personal philosophy in life is....If you can't criticize or make fun of yourself and take it. Like having the families ISP disconnect you, or The equipment used to create or spread the Hacked software seized and used as evidence in a trial that even if it didnt take place that would surely tie it up for a few years, or A civil suit like the RIAA and Microsoft have done in the past all nice and public All real possibilities I like those points Insuw. You could even expand on them to include such things as. What if 12 yr old script kiddie is playing on Mom and Dad's computer at home. Mom or Dad does things for work on his/her computer at home. Said script kiddie download hack. AA tracks said script kiddie.
AA then: 1. Calls script kiddies ISP informing them what is going on. ISP disconnects internet service to the house. 2. Informs local law enforcement or FBI office of what is going on and has issued a subpeona for computer equipment in the home for evidence in civil trial.
Results: 1. Family loses internet connection 2. Family loses all computers. 3. Mom or Dad loses job for not being able to do work from home or having the computer at home to do said work. 4. Mom and Dad pay out money to a lawyer and possible fines.
Not a very nice scenario but very possible. -- My personal philosophy in life is....If you can't criticize or make fun of yourself and take it. What right to you have to criticize or make fun of others. | |

The Army has just found the best way in the world to fund the cost of the war in Iraq. How? I'd pay friggin' top dollar to sit in bleachers set up in front of the house of the first cheating brat to answer the front door and find a couple of Army MPs waiting to haul his ass off for violating the AA terms of services (if such a thing exists). Particularly it's some young piece of shit that needs to get outside and face reality anyway instead of sitting inside and cheating at a relatively decent game and ruining it for the gaming community. $50/ticket goes to fueling raids on terrorists in Fallujah and ensuring whatever peace can be established in time for the January elections. If the AA group has time off or a lull in development, I'm all for 'em heading to a weapons locker and making a cheater run. Certainly don't, however, need military resources pulled off of REAL war to deal with these brats. IronChefMorimoto -- It is said that the two great sins are pride and hate.
