Microsoft Scraps Windows 2000 SP5
Plans for an update rollup instead
Reports from eWeek and TechSpot indicate that plans for Windows 2000 Service pack 5 will be scrapped in lieu of an Update Rollup in mid-2005. The Update Rollup will contain all security-related updates produced for Windows 2000 between SP4 and the time when Microsoft finalizes the contents of the Update Rollup, and a small number of important non-security updates. Because Microsoft believes the Update Rollup will better meet the needs of customers than a new service pack, there will not be a Service Pack 5 (SP5) for Windows 2000.

Suprise..Suprise

I would have to say that Windows NT4 is the most patched Windows Operating System in history.

I really wasn't suprised they dropped SP5, many people figured they would anyway. I just want to know of Microsoft is ever going to release IE 6 SP2 for 2000 users.
