Several people here at work (republicans) got a snail mail notice saying that their polling place had changed, by about 5-10 miles(?) as measured on a map.. Last I heard they had not been able to verify it, so they will check the paper tonight to see, but around here, that can be a different town! Since many of us can WALK to our normal polling place, that is a bit upsetting.

said by pcdebb: the sad part is you are going to find some n00bs that got those emails and will be going to the poll on wednesday not knowing what hit them This is sick, absolutely sick. I've known for a while about the poll spamming thing, but the fake e-mail message was obviously done by a democrat: quote: Vote on the right day assigned - > > Democrats will vote on Tuesday between normal hours > > Republicans will vote on Wednesday between normal hours. (?!?!?!) > > Independants will vote Thursday between normal hours.
Anybody who falls for this spelling is stupid as well: quote: After many years of loyal service to Mr. John Kerry and one of his closest aides, I cant in good consciousness support him any longers.

Dude, I believe The Onion is a satire page. I think it was a joke. . .They had a really funny article in 2001 about how the WTC hijackers were suddenly finding themselves in hell.
"Hijackers Surprised To Find Selves In Hell JAHANNEM, OUTER DARKNESSThe hijackers who carried out the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon expressed confusion and surprise Monday to find themselves in the lowest plane of... 3734 | 26 September 2001 | News "
Apparently you have to sign up as a member to get to this article because it's in the archives.
All that aside, I don't doubt some people are being jerked around in regard to voting dates and places, but The Onion article was satire.

GamesAll of this is nothing new the location is the only difference. Go back the the beginnings of our country and dirty tricks where the rule of the road. Boozed soaked election cake to get around the no drinking on election day rules. Moving poling places with out notice. New York Tammany Hall skulduggery, Chicago's famous dead voting block. Unions stuffing ballot boxes. etc and on and on. If you study our history you will see there is very little new under the sun.

Accurate Count ImpossibleThere is no way on this green Earth we're going to even get a close to accurate count after tomorow. We have:
- Broken
Viting Voting Machines
- Lost Absentee Ballots
- Court Flipflopping on Provisional Ballots
- Court Flipflopping on Polling place challangers
- People calling people telling them their polling place changed
- People throwing away opposing party registrations
- etc..

Not to mention the thousands of lawyers on standby each party has hired to file countless lawsuits if the other party happens to win.

Went in to vote this morning bright and early at 6:00. As claco predicted, THE VOTING MACHINE WAS BROKEN!
Fortunately they had two for our district and we lined up for it.

Not Viting Botes!Have your voice heard, even if it's *$#@ you bush or eat %#@$ Kerry. Bush..... Kerry..... either way, it seems silly to put so much faith in a man, who will just bend the country over and have his way with it. They care more about their skull and bones secrecy, than their constituents. When they cry peace and safety, look for the real terror.

Don't like Bush or Kerry? Vote BadnarikYes, he is on the ballet in every state except NH and OK. » badnarik.org/His website is the least confusing for me, I know exactly what he stands for. The other two (Bush/Kerry) are pretty much both the same just in a different person. If I wanted someone I thought would make a difference instead of choosing the lesser of two evils, I vote for Michael Badnarik

I spoke with him again...tremendous traffic was to blame for the sporadic outages, and hopefully some ingenious behind-the-scenes engineering to improve capacity will be enough. Kudos to the staff at Omnistep.com, btw.
