Well, I just bought a $34.95 plan that is 1.5 x 768 . Can't wait to see what my speed really is. I have a feeling the upload speed won't surpasse 368. | |

Yes, they offer what is called the Regional Package and then you add your Wireless and DSL to the bill to save 10% on your phone and 5 bucks off DSL. It runs me about 42/month for the local service with 3 calling features, well, 4 at no cost, and I save 10% off wireless, 5 off dsl, 6 off directv and that's enough to keep me even though I don't qualify for the 3mbps yet...because I'm on an RT. | |

While I agree with the first part of your post, I disagree with the latter. It isn't the end of 2004 yet. How do you know Verizon won't reach 4,000,000 people? You should really go read up on the deployment. Verizon has installed fiber lines in many different areas, it's just waiting to be turned on.

This is in place across various parts of the country and is about to be deployed in NYC.
In case I sound like a salesman, yes, I work for them. Regardless, we are working up the legal specs now for risers etc in NY and when it comes in, it will be HUGE. | |

I am jealous of the people with the fiber in Keller and anywhere else that have it running.  I am jealous of the people with RR Premium (It isn't offered here). And I am joining the people with Verizon 3/768 tomorrow when the new modem comes. I have my fingers crossed that I get the speed that is promised.:D

I called yesterday and qualified for the new upgrade at 8200 feet.

| 3 meg upgrade and price Just got off the phone and here's how it goes. If you have the Freedom package which starts at around 53 bucks you can get the 3 meg dsl for $39.95 or, $44.95 without the Freedom package. I have local, long distance and cell service from Verizon plus the dsl at 1.5/384 but.... unless I spring for the higher priced phone service I can't get the $5 break on the 3 meg upgrade. To the Verizon bean counters I say "YOU BLOW". The bitch of it is my dsl line works soooooooo much better than the Comcrap I had before that I'll pay the extra $5 screaming all the way.
PS. The 11k LL is the limit. Sorry to you folks with the long lines. | |

Is this an automatic(as in, call up, and wait a few days) thing, or do you have to recieve a new modem, quick start kit, etc?
I don't feel like paying for shipping to return this modem, and wait a week or two to recieve another. Also, does this modify the one year service agreement, sort of modifying teh fine rpint to say you have 3mbps, or is a whole new service plan?
And do I get to keep my email and msn premium?
