plans to begin offering high speed Internet service to parts of rural Vermont (Plainfield and Marshfield) that have been beyond the limits of the traditional service providers. The Internet signal will be delivered to a wireless network by antennas that will not require tall towers. "
Plainfield will have the service first, with the goal of giving most of the two towns access by the middle of next year, said Miles Silk, a founder of
Wireless Revolution in Barre, Vermont. "
We approached some of the bigger broadband providers, and none of them really wanted to do it, saying they couldn't justify extending service where they didn't have enough customer density," said Bryan Pfeiffer, a small business owner in Plainfield.
