| Can you say class action? Having service cut off and having to get new providers is the least of our problems, Norvergence customers. The big question is: How would a court of law look at an arrangement where the customer is getting none of the promised service and yet is required to make payments for all of the 60 month contract period for a piece of equipment whose value has no reasonable relationship to the lease payment? When called, the leasing company which handles our contract acted like they don't know anything about the equipment or Norvergence at all: just keep paying or else. | |

| Re: never heard of them I have heard that the bankruptcy judge may void all the lease agreements that Norvergence has done. I have been contacted by CIT who is one of the leasing companies who is trying to force suppliers on me to reconnect me using he box.
The KEY here is no matter what don't use your box. If you don't and the judge voids the contracts you won't be obligated to make your payments any longer. The company who holds you lease can have their equipment back. You start using your box with a different alternative supplier and the lease now has a value and you are screwed...

| Re: Jail Time Anyone?
The sad thing is what they did is legal, unethical, but legal, the got 70% of thier money up front from leases for equipment that cost around $2K but selling to the leasing company for around $60000. Leasing companies don't check retail values, to them is just a loan commitment to the customer. Most leases these days are nothing more than loans.
I am sure there is something they can hang these guys with, but it won't be this.
We have a customer who is ready for when things end, we implemented a dial-up backup in his netopia R9100 router we provided for him earlier., so when norvergence ends his router will simply switch to a dialup connection with a solvent provider allowing them something until thier new provider gets them connected. (30 day lead time).

| Thank GOD They sent a high pressure sales person to my Office a few months ago. I knew there was something wrong when the guy kept on using the term screening and that he was interviewing us.He was making comments like we'll review your credit worthiness and decide of your right for us. He made it seem like it was a great honor for them to consider us. I basically did my best to push the sales person out the door! I knew something was fishy. | |

| Re: Looking for alternatives Actually Qwest will not allow you to use thier service. They supplied the lines under a wholesale contract with Norvergence.
Our company, one of 10,000 Norvergence customers installed a new T-1 line in the building with a seperate vendor . . . And we are in communication with our lawyers to break the 5 year contract with the leasing company. All of this hassle to save a few hundred dollars every month. We have spent more time and effort on this fiasco than it was worth.
FYI - a good resource and co-op legal team formed to go after the group of leasing companies can be found on www.taa.org

| Re: Looking for alternatives I was a happy Norvergence customer for 2 years. I have absolutely no complaints on the product, pricing, or customer service. They did what they promised me. I am only disappointed that they underpriced their product, or their expenses consumed all cash flow, or both. Verizon bailed me out with no service interuption. Good luck to all other Norvergence customers and employees. The Norvergence equipment lease is a problem I will have to face after the dust settles a bit. | |

We had a seamless transition with our cell phones, T1 (now cable), and outbound calls. And we're holding off paying the "equipment lease" payment for now.

| Re: Looking for alternatives It is a relief to know that we are not the only ones. We are also looking for alternatives. Qwest has informed us that they are not going to discontinue the service but we need to sign up with a carrier soon. We do have a backup DSL service but the entire office and data communications can not run on a DSL only. We would have to deal with the leasing companies through our lawyers as well. I must say though that the product they offered was good and it worked. Their customer service was very bad and there was no followup. I feel bad for their staff. Their unlimited sprint cell phones (we had 9 of them) package was too good to be true. I guess you live and learn. | |

| you must be kidding, the best thing to do is go with the locals. They can put you back quicker and give you, for a slightly higher cost both your lines back and your internet. Everything else is just another scam. All of the telecommunications services will be changing in the next 6-12 months and prices will drop and services will be bundled by the big boys using VoIP. Wait!! Listen ! then move. | |

| Lostinleaseland I signed up my company with Norvergence in may. They had me sign a lease agreement for the equipment when they deliverd it. They mounted a device to give us T1 service and left us telephone equipment that was never connected.
Right before they closed their doors, I got a call asking me to sign a new lease agreement. I never did it. Possibly they were double dipping at that point. That is sending the paper through two different lease companies for the same one set of equipment and getting double funded!
Fortunately, I never was hooked up or my numbers ported over. What I have are boxes full of a new unconnected telephone system. A T1 connecting device on my wall and signed lease papers!
I have not gotten a bill at this point. Anyone have any suggestions?

| Re: Lostinleaseland I received a bill from the company leasing the equipment, paid it expecting Norvergence to hook us up very soon. When we called to see what the delay was we learned they where out of business. I am having a lawyer look at the contract to see what options we have. The leasing company has called with telephone numbers of other companies that can provide the phone service.
We need to establish what our legal situation is, since they have forfeited service and form an alliance to defend ourselves. I am certain there are many of us in the same boat.

We were connected wit T1 and 800 Voice in May, but never received cell phone. We kept paying our SBC DSL & Voice bills and not paying Norvergence or Leasing co. since we had issues. T1 went down yesterday but 800 is still working. Nornergence impact will be minimal since SBC lines are still working.I could use the matrix box with another provider at higher prices or stay with SBC like before. However, leasing co. is keep calling and want their money. We are looking for others who are willing to take on the leasing co. in a call action case.

| Do you want to sell the equipment that didn't get hooked up? I am an ESI reseller in Michigan. My phone number is 269-372-4494. If you need an installer and service company in your area, go to www.esi-estech.com or you could go to www.usedphones.com and list for an installer in your area. Also sushine communications has a tech BBS site. If you were quoted a bill of goods that a leasing company is loaning money on, and the goods can't be delivered, then you can send a letter to the leasing company to find someone to make good on the deal or return your money and pick their equipment up at their cost. Atleast that was how it worked for companies I contracted to who couldn't provide the services bundled with the equipment provided. | |

| I advised against signing us up to the Owner and against my judgement he decided to sign us up. We signed a lease agreement for the equipment when they delivered it as well. They sent a technician out that supposedly did something to the phones. But there is no visual difference to our equipment. No equipment was ever hooked up we have 19 matrix phones sitting in their boxes unopened. Never had any service change or interruption. The regular bills come as scheduled. they never sent us the cell phones that they promised. When I spoke with the leasing company ILC all that they told me is that the invoice only covers the product (phones) not the service. They gave me the option to pay either the full amount over 5 years totaling 17,886.60 or he would give me a break of 20% if I paid the contract in full now. So basically we would be paying 14,309.28 for 19 phones that we can't use. I have been researching online but haven't been that successful in finding any really useful information on where things stand at this point. It seems really wrong to me that somebody can charge you legally for a service that they are not providing. We could have upgraded all of our phones and spent well under what they are expecting of us. If you have any information on either the bankruptcy at this point or if you have suggestions on what we can do please email me at depapearch@earthlink.net | |

| Finally, we went dark at 4:30 EDT After wondering when it would finally get shut off, our Qwest/Norvergence line went down today (July 22) at about 4:30 pm. I checked with another area company, and they went down as well. I guess it's finally over, although the cell phones are still running for now. We have about two more weeks before our replacement T1 line is in. Moved servers to another location, so they will be up. No internet in the office may actually lead to higher productivity | |

| Will my service's terminate? Despite the red flags I signed on with Norbullshit in may. I have not received anything (cell phones, T1, etc...) Supposedley they installed the matrix but I cant really verify that because the phone closet for the building is locked. I contacted all my communications providers (Cingular, ATT, Verizon) and they are not aware of any third parties being involved in the service that they are providing to me. They stated that as long as I pay the bills they keep sending, I will have no problems with service interruption. Did I get on board late enough that Norvergence hadnt wrapped their tentacles around my services or do these companies (Cingular, Att, etc) not know that they will be terminating my service? | |
