MAXIS Communications Bhd is projecting growth of 50%-60% this year for its latest satellite broadband services, Skystream VSAT. With higher bandwidth, Skystream can support many modern applications that are bandwidth-hungry, like web browsing, video mail and file transfer. Maxis had offered VSAT services since 1997 and had installed about 700 sites in the country, the service was not widely used by the business community given the high cost of infrastructure and devices.
