| your right, my bad...
ok so here is how it goes...
RIAA sueing its end users... MPAA sueing its members...
so every person in america hates the RIAA
and every movie studio (aka the people that pay the MPAA) hates the MPAA
wow these organizations really are retarded -- BellSouth sucks | |

| Re: lol Hell, why don't they just show the movie to all the reviewers in a given area all at once in a movie theatre? Frisk them for cameras, and have armed guards standing around, making sure there is no funny business. Frisk them again when they leave, and make them sign agreements that say that they won't tell what happens in the movie, nor put it down if the movie sucks.
Then, when the movie is shown to the public, frisk the movie patrons, and have the same guards around. 4 per theatre, roaming around, ought to be enough to discourage those damn movie pirates. Kinda like having some Gestapo types around to intimidate the folk into staying in line.
This way, the MPAA will be able to stop that dreaded movie piracy, and fleece the consumer with low quality movies, since we won't know what we're getting into. Of course, it'll also drive the customers away in droves, and then the MPAA can say that "our measures were ineffective, it must be those damn P2P'ers and pirates scaring everyone away"...

| Re: lol You have very good points, theater balconies can be easily converted to catwalks for the armed gaurds, how about I-bolts drilled into the arm rests of the seats so theater patrons can be handcuffed to them to prevent the so called funny business. How about no more dimming of the lights, or even installing floodlights that turn on when the movie starts. Why frisk? Just incorporate mandatory strip searches. Tearful goodbyes through chain link fences surrounding multiplexes when loved ones go to see the new summer box office hit. This will stop fungus from spreading. | |

| ushers Ushers now walk around in the dark with equipment to detect any video cameras. get caught and they take you to the security room, you get your equipment confiscated(you dont get it back either) and the police are called. -- You can never be too rich, too thin or have too much Bandwidth | |

| Re: ushers Despite the fact that majority of ticket sales probably go to the "wrong people" I still go to the movies. I used to be grossly Anti-MPAA but the simple fact is that piracy does not help the movie industry. And anything that detracts against something that tells a thought provoking or entertaining story is something I cannot support. | |

| Re: little people On the flip side, movies are a luxury, not a necessity. Underprivileged people have other forms of entertainment. Bootlegging is no justification. Plus, if you can download it, i.e. have access to equipment good enough to do that (better than dialup presumeably), you can afford to shell out $20 -- or wait till your next allowance Or get a bunch of friends and pool your cash.
