Everything gets downrezzed to 640x480 on the LAN and the further down even more when streamed remotely.

| Re: Just bought an old slingox The Slingbox Pro has HDMI input, but you have to buy a $49 dongle that turns component RGB cables and audio into a HDMI signal that the box can display.

| Re: Just bought an old slingox From your link " Im a little concerned about Sling using a standard HDMI interface on the back of the Slingbox since you cant actually plug in a HDMI source into it"
Seems odd, wonder why they did that..

| Software I like the idea of the slingbox, but the last thing i need is another set top box.
However I do have a retarted amount of TV stored on my Media Server at home, and it would be great to stream it over the LAN/internets.
does anyone know of a software that will downsize the video and operate simalar to the slingbox that i can slap on my media server?

| ! I just sold my slingbox to a DSLR member here, glad I did not because it did not work on Mac because I had no problem running Windows on my macbook but because there quality is crap.
Why nobody here talks about HAVA which uses the MPEG-2 encoder unlike Slingbox which uses WM9? Why nobody is talking about those 20-40 dollar TV tuners you can buy off Newegg and simply watch and stream that way?
Slingbox is like some overpriced Kia, it's just not worth it no matter how pretty it looks.

Orb is a nice program if you have the patience to fiddle with it until it works and doesn't crash.
