| Re: broadband radio? hmm i listned to the 56k and the sound was not that bad, but the broadband was sure nice sound....compaired to the 56k.....
the 56 would most likey take up 26-32k, with another 3-5 overhead...not leaving much for browsing, but that is why they set up a buffer....
:O) -- How BIG did you say?? No not that Perv!! I meant your GHZ crunching fleet!!

| Re: broadband radio? I think this is going to be marketed to people using AOL Broadband on TW and some other MSO's cable networks. I think they also have a DSL solution as well. I don't really care much for AOL, but I do live in an area serviced by TW Cable. So basically it could be 300kb and have 1700kb left for browsing. | |

| You have to tune into their secretive band.. Only 56k is going to be used for the audio.. you have to tune into their ultra-top-secret band to download their AOL CD distribution. Yep. You listen to the stream while it downloads AOL version 8 to your PC and installs in the background without your knowledge. | |

| 24 hours a day, 7 days a weeks of WHAT ?! Mmmmm great, an internet radio service owned by TW... Yeah, I can see it now, 24/7 Teenie Bopper and "Ghetto" music. Isn't it always lovely when the media companies control every aspect of the media from the artists to the delivery channel...
I'm sorry, but this service is bound to be a flop. Most of the best music is not proprietary in format (mp3), requires more bandwidth that AOL will allow 64kbps (and my favorites, 128kbps and 160kbps) and is stuff TW would never play (digitally Imported, and other electronica streams).
Broadband Radio@AOL will just be Britney Spears and N'Sync for those with the extra bandwidth to listen AND surf around looking for better artists. -- root by day... raver by night... fluorine.org : Check out www.homestarrunner.com
