Litigation on Demand
Three movie studios sued by VOD company
(old news - 07:12PM Tuesday Sep 24 2002)
tags: Video · business
Intertainer, one of several start-up broadband video on demand providers has filed a lawsuit against AOL Time Warner, Vivendi Universal, and Sony. The suit accuses the three companies of conspiring to boost prices on Intertainment's movie licensing deals in order to give an unfair advantage to MovieLink, a similar venture well funded by all three companies. Intertainer, who is backed by Microsoft, Intel, Qwest and Sony, also alleges that Sony used their position as investor to funnel information to the backers of MovieLink. Sony

Hmm... Sony seems to be the backstabber around here. It's a shame, I always did like Sony products. I guess whoever makes the most money is the one Sony would stay with.

Do you realize how dumb of a response that is to a story that relates to Monopolization of entertainment. Are you an invalid? Go back to pre-school.

Excellent!

I love to see dissention among the big boys. The more they hate each other, the less likely they are to band together to screw the people!

Of course, in this case they are fighting over who has the right to screw us

Question pricing?

There rental prices at Intertainer are laughable. Movielink seemed to want an email.

Re: Question pricing?

The prices at Intertainer are the same as Video-On-Demand over Satellite and less than that with the packaged deals they offer. Please do some research before you speak on a subject.

I love Intertainer!

Intertainer is awesome. The monthly all you can watch package includes so many shows that it has kept my family entertained for months with an occasional, slightly pricey, but oh so convenient without the late fees, movie tossed in here and there. Awesome performance on our new computer. Nothing out there like it.
Not only this but i got 3 free premium movies just for my suggestions for movies to other subscribers emailed back to them (super simple) and it left me with a .59 credit that they actually credited back to my account on the billing date. Most companies just give you a "credit" on the next bill. They are always helpful with any questions and always answer the phone quickly.
I'm for the company that gives me an awesome product and SERVICE on this one. Lawsuit? YES! Yay for Intertainer! Kick rear!
No, I am not afilliated in any way...just a mom who likes good service. =)

Hmm...

I remember when Limewire brought out a pay version of their program. It was pretty funny when you could download the free version of limewire, then download the pay version of it off the free version.

With Kazaa lite out though, why would anyone want to pay for it?
