Multiple static IPs under Verizon, Westell 7500 Modem Config

Ok, I think I may have this mapped out properly, at least in my head, at this point.

The situation is, I have a client who have DSL with 5 static IPs. Finally after a headache with Verizon, we get the internet up and running, by assigning the IP and DNS to the WAN interface accordingly.

My goal through out this is to configure our firewall with one of our public IPs and allow all the traffic on said IP, to pass directly to that firewall. The Westell is already setup for router bridged mode, however when I put the static IP info in, it cannot connect to the internet or access the web interface on the Westell or ping either the LAN or WAN IP.

If I understand correctly, what I have to do is DISABLE the private lan, and ENABLE the public lan, and that should solve my problem? I'm a little unsure of what to put in the information fields for the public lan though. Is the IP the same as the IP of the WAN interface? Or do I supply it with another IP from the block we were provided by Verizon and give a third to the WAN interface on the firewall? The subnet mask I assume would be 255.255.255.248 and the DNS would be the DNS provided by the ISP...

I'm not on site at the moment, so I can't really do much testing, I just want to verify if I understand this correctly from anyone who may have experience doing just this sort of thing. I found so many unresolved threads on my search, so hopefully I can get a straight answer. Thanks in advance!

Accessing transciever stats on a Westell 2110 Modem

It looks like this may be a bridging modem.

I tried a direct connection between my laptop and the modem and setting static IP as suggested in

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,22689368?hilite=westell+transciever+stats

I also tried this http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,16836713

Any ideas on how to read the transceiver stats on this modem?
