loss of sync

www.pingplotter.com

Download and run the program

Keep a constant ping, when you loose it save the graph.

Re: loss of sync

Yeah but the problem isn't on the IP side of things it's the connection to the DSLAM that is culprit.

Re: loss of sync

This software should provide you the exact point where the connection is lost.

It's worth a shot anyway

Re: loss of sync

I appreciate your trying to help but I am not losing the internet connection (PPPoE) side of things I am losing the DSL signal itself (The connection between me and the central office). Ping plotter will show me all the hops between me and a given IP address. The only thing Ping plotter will give me an error on when I lose sync will be the first hop of the way, which is my equipment.

I have the exact same problem

dude i have the exact same problem for the speedstream 4100 too, it loses syc every 5 mins, even though i can go online with it just fine, but it is compleatly impossible to play a single online game. My line stops losing sync around 8pm and is stable for the rest of the night, untill 9am in the morning.

Anyone help?

Re: I have the exact same problem

Yours sounds more like a local problem where something goes on during the day causing you to lose sync. Do you have the thunderstorm problem too? Have you tried posting in »/forum/sbcdirect at all?

Bottom line though sync loss is terrible, especially when it's intermittent and if it only occurs for short periods of time like an episode of thunderstorms.
