Zoom speeds / prices

Zoom 100 - 256k down / 256k up, 10 MB storage on Zoom's FTP server, 3 email accounts - $26.95/mo
Zoom 500 - 5000k down / 512k up, 10 MB storage on Zoom's FTP server, 6 email accounts - $39.95/mo - My service
Zoom Pro - 10000k down / 1500k up, 10 MB storage on Zoom's FTP server, 10 email accounts - $59.95/mo
Zoom Business - 10000k down / 3000-5000k up, 10 MB storage on Zoom's FTP server, 30? email accounts - this is negotiated with your local salesman. don't quote me on this but around $119 / month . This connection can have ports under 1024 opened so you can run a server.
*All prices are with Armstrong Cable TV, prices are higher on residential connections for standalone intenet without. (So zoom pro is 59.95 w/ or w/out cable tv)

other notes:
-space on the ftp server can be used to build a website generates website to »users.zoominternet.net/~username/
-if you need more than 10 MB of space (because let's face it that is a pathetic amount of space these days) you can exchange your email for 10 MB extra you need to call for this there's no way to do it on their site. This space affects both mailbox size (which determines the size of attachments you can send) and web space.
-if you get armstrong telephone I believe you get 10 MB of extra webspace alotted.
-The armstrong telephone service does not cut into the bandwidth used for the internet and gets its own dedicated bandwidth equal to the level of service you have.
-I'm not sure how many email accounts business class connections get.

Re: Zoom speeds / prices

I think you're wrong about the business price.
The corporate plan is $350 a month for 10/5 Mbps

And you said Zoom Pro is $59.95 with Cable TV. And they are more without any TV plans. But you said the ZOOM Pro package is the same price without TV?

Armstrong

I had Vonage using Armstrong Cable for over a year, I pay for the zoom 500. It worked great until about 6 months ago when they started offering their own version called zoom phone. My VOIP went from working great, to not working at all. After much frustration and angry phone calls, I finally ended up signing up with their version. It cost an additional $10.00/month over VOIP, plus I had a second line with the VOIP that I used for my fax machine that I lost. That service from Armstrong would have been an additional $35.00. They basically forced us to buy the phone service from them.

Modem rental fees

I never thought Armstrong charged for the modem I pay $39.99 a month for Zoom 500 and that includes the modem. I even called Armstrong and they told me that I had to use their modem, that I couldn't purchase one (and they were a little confused as to why I would want to buy one). You may want to revise your review.

Re: Modem rental fees

Got zoom reinstalled after numerous price increases and connection problems with SBC.
Did not charge me a rental fee for the modem Zoom 500 $39.95
good value and great service for the buck you won't realize it until you try SBC
Trust me!

BTW I run Vonage through a Netgear router works perfectly!

Great service

I have Zoom 500, and I use Vonage. No problems at all. Bandwidth is always there when I need it. Once my modem was damaged in a storm, and they came out a 9:45pm on a FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!! I didn't think service like that existed any more. Great product, great service. I always sing the praises of Armstrong

Always reliable

I work for a VoIP service provider in the Medina, OH area. We recommend all our customers within the service area get Armstrong, even over T1s. The reliability is just that good and the inexpensive performance is unbeatable.

We have a T1 in our main office, but only the servers sit on it. We run our phones and day-to-day data on the Armstrong line.
