| Interesting. I wonder why there have been 10 "Unhappy Camper" reviews in the past 24 hours...all containing short variations on similar usernames and all coming from NJ.
Even more interesting is the fact that word analysis of the complaints shows the exact same diction/grammar patterns and language.

They're blocking KAZAA PORTS BECAUSE ITS ILLEGAL and they're protecting you. They're blocking mail server ports, because you can't be running a MAIL SERVER ON A RESIDENTIAL connection. OOL is good for the power user. I do disagree with their throttling though, they should fix that, after all this is a PREMIUM service. We pay enough for them to buy another couple backbones. You think you're paying through the asshole now? I pay $150 a month for business cable. Alright. Thats right. And about customer support...One little guy who's paid $8 an hr to answer the phones IS NOT GOING TO CHALLENGE UPPER MANAGEMENT TO BUY ANOTHER $25,000+ BACKBONE.

for the $50 bucks a month we pay they should be able to provide world class customer support and a resolution for this type of issue that does not take 8 weeks to complete.
Why am I crazy to mention BPL and FIOS? It offers ridiculous speeds for comperable prices...WITHOUT THE BS PACKET SHAPING AND CABLE LINE ISSUES. IDK why anyone would NOT want FIOS....or at least BPL. Wait a few years and the cable CO's will be hurting BAD by these two technologies.
Sorry to tell you, but "Business Cable" is nothing more than your upload speed uncapped slightly, static IP, and a few ports unblocked. That includes them setting your modem on a seperate network without DHCP and port blocking and editing a text file via TFTP to your modem to uncap the upload. I would edit the file myself, but I would probably get JAILTIME after they SNMP'd to my modem and found out I'm getting 5Mbps uploads...LOL
BTW...I could care less about blocked inbound ports. Its called »www.dyndns.org

cablemodem service sucks, cablevision sucks, if they were so proud of their company why don't they have the word "CABLEVISION" prominant? instead of OPTIMUM, brand!
and for more than the past year, optimum has been real dog poop all services, tv, internet access, and even that pos, phone service! | |
