| Everything wrong with Sympatico
I had MONTHS of unreliable service. Useless tech support. They blamed my computer, my operating system, my phone lines, my filters.... all MY fault. After about 2 1/2 months, of me calling daily, they finally realized it was THEIR modem. They sent me a new one quick enough. I couldn't cancel because they locked me into a 1 yr contract (stupid me...)anyways since the new modem, I only need to reboot everything about once a week rather than 5 times daily. Still lousy service if you ask me. Very slow speed still. Sympatico has huge problems. I asked to be released from contract due to lack of service, but obviously they know I'm gone in 5 more long months. Lousy company, lousy support, lousy product. Go Videotron | |

| Re: Everything wrong with Sympatico 3 years of hassles. I agree will you!.. I have had nothing but problems with Bell. From the phone to the internet. Same song and dance.. must be your computer, must be your phone lines you will need to call a bell tech to fix it.. ok np.. call Bell they say sorry not our problem call Sympatico. "Sorry the phone lines under the road are damaged and we are not prepared to dig up the roads to fix your service to bring your current speed of 576kb/s to the 3MB/s that you are paying for, be patient and call us back in 6 months" The latests is that a phone jack in my home lost the dsl, phone worked just not dsl.. so a bell tech came and fixed it. in the process disabled other jacks in my home at the same time.. that took them 1 month of 4 separate appointments in which they never showed up to finally come and re-connect the jacks. I think finally I can have a decent connection. Boy was I wrong the very next day not only was my phone hanging up on my calls sporatically but my speed decreased to 384kB/s
My advice to new-subscribers... DON'T.. Unless your in the midst of a highly technlogically, highly populated area such as areas near big business.. don't expect good quality, or good service..
I am now switching to videotron for both my phone and internet!! Wish me Luck | |

| My Sympatico service [since the first week that Bell DSL arrived in Guelph] was very slow. The problem was with the connection in this apt. bldg. Bell wanted to charge us $65.00 + taxes to fix their problem. We dropped Bell DSL, Bell land line and $50 or more per month long distance charges...Bell has lost many land lines and still they want to charge the customer to fix their bad lines. Screw 'em! We switched to Rogers for cell service [two phones] and Net access. Bell is too large and too arrogant to keep customers happy! | |

join:2002-10-08 | Sympatico ISP services Sympatico continues to go along "up" most of the time. Sometimes seems a bit slow but 3 computers here into a router so I guess that is a bigger part of it. 1 computer sometimes 2 with intense gaming going on. | |

| Bell 2 Wire modem / wireless router Complete garbage! I returned my 7 year old Speed Stream modem(@ their suggestion) that gave me no problems for this crap. Wireless my eye! Tech support said the usual, your laptop, drivers, phone line ect.. finally fed up a Bell business rep suggested I use it as just a modem and reconnect my Microsoft wireless router! Works fine now. Can't wait for more High Speed ISP options so I can leave Bell! | |
