| Re: Connection Problems kamm From your original post
"....Picked up P8's DTA in J&R - this way I do not have a 12-month contract because I paid for my DTA. (Rebates still available, though. )....."
I just called Packet8 sales and they told me I would have a contract even if I bought the DTA through a retailer and took advantage of the promotion you mentioned ($60 rebate & 2 free months w/ activation at Packet8 website....from J&R). How did you avoid contract?
Just dumped Lingo b/c of Reliability issues....searching for another provider to try. Would love to try Packet8 VOIP service, but don't want the 12 month contract

| Re: Connection Problems Actually you're right: P8 support contradicts itself.
BEFORE I bought this adapter I was told I AM NOT will be under 12-months commitment - and now they told me yes, I'll be under this.
I really don't like it, so I'm curious what's the truth is - I hope P8 rep will clarify hereby this situation.

| Re: Connection Problems This if from Packe8's terms of service on their website:
DISCONNECTION FEE. Subsequent to the expiration of the Trial Period, if End User terminates Service within twelve (12) months of the purchase of the Services, 8x8 shall charge a Disconnection Fee of fifty-nine dollars ($59.00). The Disconnection Fee shall be waived after End User completes twelve (12) months of consecutive service. Disconnection Fees shall be billed to End User's Credit Card when End User notifies 8x8 of the cancellation of the Services.(Retail customers will not be required to pay any Disconnection fees.)
The last sentence in parentheses is, I think, the relevant passage.

Other conditions apply as noted by each retailers specific rebate form. Here is a link to J&R's: ttp://www.jr.com/images/pdf/rebates/8X83_20041231.pdf
